Ethics Agreement

By reviewing and initialing each of these standards, the employer and PA agree to follow them to the best of their abilities.


PA's Standards of Behavior Employer's Standards of Behavior
line The PA will be reliable and dependable in performing his or her duties. This includes being on time and fit for work, and observing scheduled working hours. line The employer will be reliable and dependable by being home when the PA arrives. This includes observing scheduled employment hours, and paying the PA on time.
line The PA will advise the employer prior to coming to work if he or she recognizes a sign of illness. This includes advising the employer if he or she anticipates not being able to perform tasks and services adequately. line The employer will be honest and maintain integrity by adhering to the terms of employment agreement. This includes offering to negotiate a new agreement if work conditions or expectations change.
line The PA will show respect for the employer's privacy and modesty. The PA will not discuss the employer's medical diagnosis or condition with the employer unless it is pertinent to performance of the job, or the employer wishes to discuss it. line The employer will maintain safe working conditions and not expose the PA to conditions that endanger the PA's health or safety.
line The PA will never discuss the employer's financial, emotional, family, medical, or other personal matters with others without specific approval of the employer in order to carry out a directed task.    
line The PA will be honest and maintain integrity in handling the employer's personal property, money and other resources.    
line The PA will do his or her best to control normal reaction to illness by carefully following the instructions of the employer, and by maintaining safe working conditions.    
line The PA will follow basic rules of safety in caring for the employer and while working with equipment and supplies.    
line The PA will never leave the employer without essential attendant services despite personality conflicts that may arise.    

Both the PA and the employer should read and initial next to each of the following standards of behavior.

Worker's and Employer's Mutual Standards of Behavior
line line The PA and the employer will keep their working relationship separate from their personal lives. Personal issues of either party should not be discussed unless they may affect the ability to perform a job.
line line The PA and employer will respect one another's cultural and religious practices.
line line The PA and employer will each recognize the responsibility to end the work agreement if unresolvable issues in their personal relationship interfere with the performance of services described in that agreement.
line line The PA and employer will recognize and respect one another as a whole person, with all the social, physical, emotional, and mental needs that implies.
