Abstract

Study examined the relationship between the intensity of the rehabilitation therapy provided in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) following a stroke and the time to discharge to the community. Results showed that RT was given to more than 95 percent of residents for whom discharge was expected within 90 days and to more than 60 percent of residents for whom discharge was uncertain or not expected. RT increased the likelihood of discharge to home for all groups except those to be discharged within 30 days.
