Abstract
Explores the issues related to the use of supported employment and time-related transitional employment for blind and visually impaired persons, many of whom are unemployed or underemployed. The concepts of supported and time-limited transitional employment are defined; the characteristics that distinguish these services from others are described; and the need for these services from the ecological, philosophical, fiscal, and learning perspectives are discussed.
