University of Nebraska Public Policy Center. (2002). The impact of earnings of Nebraskans with disabilities on their eligibility for selected services and programs. Lincoln, NE: Author.

Abstract

Nebraska's Medicaid Infrastructure Grant program supported the development of this report on policy alternatives for making Medicaid and other publicly-funded programs more responsive to the needs of working people with disabilities. Four possible policy goals are outlined and assessed in terms of potential benefits to people with disabilities and costs/benefits to the state. The report includes an array of policy strategies for the state to consider for Medicaid, food stamps, low income energy assistance, Section 8 rental housing and housing vouchers, TANF, and other federally-supported programs administered by the state.
